Using Your Candle

  • Do not use the candle for any purpose other than its intended use.

  • Never leave a candle burning while sleeping or in an unattended area.

  • Always place the candle on a stable, level surface and keep it away from flammable materials.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • The candle vessel may become warm or hot during and immediately after use. Please handle with care. Glass candle vessels in particular may become very hot during use. Please exercise extra caution.

  • Always burn your candle on a candle holder or heat-resistant surface.

  • Never use water to extinguish the flame.

  • Avoid contact with the eyes or mouth. Do not ingest.

  • As our candles are made from natural materials, changes in temperature—particularly during warmer months—may occasionally cause small droplets to appear on the surface of the wax. This is a natural characteristic and does not affect the quality of the candle. To ensure an even burn, gently wipe away any droplets with a tissue before lighting.

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 consecutive hours at a time.

Candle Care

  • Always keep the candle wick upright. (If necessary, extinguish the flame and, while the wax is still soft, gently straighten the wick using tweezers or a similar tool.)

  • Keep the candle free from dust, debris, and other foreign materials.

  • If the flame becomes too large or too small, your candle may require maintenance. → Please refer to our Candle Care Guide for detailed instructions.

Where to Use Your Candle

  • When using your candle indoors, ensure the room is adequately ventilated.

  • Keep the candle away from air conditioners, fans, and other sources of direct airflow.

  • Always keep the candle away from flammable materials such as curtains, clothing, and fabrics.

If the Flame Becomes Unstable

  • As wooden wicks are made from natural materials, they may occasionally take a little longer to ignite or the flame may take time to stabilise, much like lighting a natural wood fire. Light the wick at its base, where the wick meets the wax. If the flame remains unstable, please follow the maintenance instructions in our Wooden Wick Care guide.

  • If excess melted wax around the wick causes the flame to become too small or extinguish, extinguish the candle and carefully remove a small amount of the liquid wax while it is still warm.
Please do not pour melted wax into a sink or drain, as it may solidify and cause blockages.

About Our Handcrafted Products

  • As each candle is individually handcrafted, slight variations in texture, colour, size, and finish may naturally occur, including small cracks or subtle irregularities. These variations are part of the unique character of each handcrafted piece.

  • Each candle is carefully handcrafted in Japan.

  • As our candles are made from natural materials, the wax may respond to changes in room temperature. In cooler conditions, particularly during winter, the wax may naturally contract, occasionally creating a small gap between the wax and the vessel. In warmer conditions, particularly during summer, the wax may soften or partially melt. These are natural characteristics of the materials we use and do not affect the quality of the candle.

Storage

  • Always store and use your candle out of the reach of children and pets.

  • Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, humidity, and strong air currents.
(Exposure to these conditions may cause the candle to deform or deteriorate over time.)
